The Summer Hill is one of the most beautiful and mesmerizing of the seven hills which make up Shimla, present in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Narkanda is a small, picturesque town based in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Perched at an altitude of 8884 feet on the Hindustan Tibet road (NH 22), it stands surrounded by the Shivalik ranges of Himalayas.

Shimla forms the major road link near Narkanda. There is no shortage of state run buses from Shimla, to most of the key cities in and around Himachal Pradesh. From Shimla, it's just 2 hrs drive to Narkanda and private taxis can also be hired. A drive from New Delhi will take over 8 hours. Kotgarh, the apple bowl of India, is situated 82 km from Shimla on the old Hindustan-Tibet road. Located about 6,500 feet above sea level, it is famous for its apples and acres of apple orchards. Kotgarh is just 16 kilometers from National highway that heads into the valley through Kumarsain, Rampur and Kinnaur. 
Kotgarh is famous for not only its scenic beauty but also for its apple cultivation in the Shimla hills began in the early 1900. An interesting story behind the apple revolution in Kotagarh. Once a poverty and unproductive area, Kotagarh is now considered as one of the most wealthiest regions in Himachal Pradesh. In 1916 Samuel Stokes, a social worker from Philadelphia, USA came to Kotagarh as a missionary worker. Even though he was involved with the spreading of Christianity, Stokes attracted the beauty and the culture of Kotgarh and eventually settled down. He married Agnes Benjamin, a local Rajput Christian teenager. Even though he came to Kotgarh as a missionary worker, he converted from Christian to Hindu and changed his name to Satyanand Stokes. In Kotgarh, he cultivated delicious variety of apples in his farm, which he imported from the famous nursery Growers- Stark Brothers of Louisiana. He encouraged the local farmers to plant apples in their fields thereby bringing prosperity to the people. The apple trees which he planted continue to reap a rich harvest even 100 years later. One can still see the 'Starking Delicious' apple orchard that he planted here.
Kotgarh is one of the North India tourist places with enchanting beauty and tranquil ambiance that allure tourists from all over the country and abroad as well. The main religion followed here is Hinduism, however the population is mixed and also comprises of Muslims and other native sects. Winters are extremely cold while summers are quite pleasant here.
Locally ‘Pahari’ food is very popular in the Kotgarh region. Primarily influenced by North Indian cuisine, the dishes found in Kotgarh have the taste and flavour of the local spices and seasonings. The small restaurants here serve sumptuous food, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Some regional specialties include manee, chouck, madira, bhagjery, pateer and chutney of Til.

The nearest Airport is Jubbarhatti at Shimla which is 82 Kms. away from Thanedhar. Direct flghts from Delhi are available on alternate days.
By Rail
The closest railhead is at Shimla near bus stand and is linked with Kalka (174km) with the toy train. Kalka is linked with many big cities through narrow gauge.
By Road
Thanedar, the nearest town is just 2 km from the Hindustan - Tibet Road. Thanedar is 82 km away from Shimla. Shimla is connected by road and is 375 km from Delhi. It is 116 km from Chandigarh and from Kalka 89 km.

By Air: Understandably, there are no direct flights to Keylong. Nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport which is about 71 kilometres or Gaggal Airport at Dharamsala (78 kilometres).
By Rail: Amb Andura train station located at 131 kilometres is the nearest rail head if you want to reach Keylong. You can also get down at Una Himachal which is 142 kilometres away from  Keylong.
By Road: There are a number of private vehicles available to reach this hill station. It is advisable to take an experienced driver as the roads here meandering and dangerous.

Popularly known as Little Tibet, Spiti is nestled in the Himalayan Mountain range in Himachal Pradesh. Accessible only during summer.

The nearest railway stations to Spiti valley are Joginder Nagar railway station, and Shimla railway station. To reach the valley, you can rent a taxi from the railway station or can also board a bus going to Spiti.
By Road
Spiti is well-connected by road to the other cities and the adjoining states from, May to November. You can board the Himachal Pradesh state transport buses and other private buses from Manali, traveling past the Kunzum La pass, or can rent jeeps and cars to reach Spiti. There is another road that travels north from Shima via Kinnaur district till the Spiti valley.

Prashar Lake is a beautiful lake located in the Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 8,956ft and is an abode for nature lovers and pilgrims alike, and offers its visitors tranquility and beautiful views of the Dhauladhar, Pir Panjal and Kinnauri mountain ranges.
The lake has been named after the sage Prashar (father of Vedavyas) who has mediated here and is a pristine spiritual place.
The people of the adjoining area throng this temple during this annual fare held here in the in the month of June and the village deities of this vast mountainous area are carried to this heavenly spot to pay obeisance to sage Prashar.
Alongside the lake there is an old three storied pagoda shaped temple dedicated to the sage Prashar. The temple and a small ground alongside the lake offers great scenic natural beauty and provides the feel of heaven. This temple was built by Raja Ban Sen of Mandi in the 14th century and is capped with a roof of slate tiles and has a wealth of wood carvings.
Its lush green valleys, interspersed with rivers and lakes offer one of the most scenic and enjoyable trekking experiences.
It is nestled with tall cedar trees and forms a perfect location for a calming vacation, away from the hustle-bustle of the city. It is also known as the bird's eye as when seen from above it resembles the same.

By Air: Bhuntar is the nearest Airport for this trek.
By Rail: Chandigarh serves as the nearest railhead to Prashar Lake. From Chandigarh, the bus journey takes around 6-7 hours till Mandi. From there onwards hire a jeep to Baggi Village. The road is quite smooth till Manali except for the patch between Chandigarh and Bilaspur.
By Road: If you are planning to travel by road, hitch a ride in a bus that is plying for Kullu and Manali, it goes via Mandi. The distance from Delhi to Mandi is 430 km, which is covered in about 10-12 hours. From there onwards hire a jeep to Baggi Village. A motorable road connects Baggi. However, one can take a bus to the nearest village called Baggi, beyond which there are no buses. The hike from Baggi village to the lake is approximately 7 km.

Situated at a height of 1360m above sea-level, Rewalsar Lake is located at a distance of 24 km from the city of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. A square shaped like lake is surrounded by mountain spur and dense vegetation.

Mandi is a beautiful city in the district of Mandi in the state of Himachal Pradesh. There are more than 81 temples in the city, and it is because of this Mandi is often referred to as ' Varanasi of the East' . Situated along the banks of the Beas River.
