Fed by river Jhelum, Wular Lake is the largest fresh water lake in Kashmir valley, and also in India. Surrounded by mountains and dense forests of alpine and coniferous vegetation, Wular lake offers a captivating natural sight to its visitors.
Wular Lake is the charming lake in Srinagar in the Jammu and Kashmir state of India. It is the largest freshwater lake in India spread over the 200 sq.km. The Jhelum River flows into the river and the winds blow over the river looks so amazing.
The deepest part of the lake is called as Mota Khon. The place looks awesome and is great to be there. There was artificial islands in the river previously but nor they are the now on one side and are the popular picnic spots for the tourists. There are many amazing places to visit around the Lake. How to Reach
By Road: Located in the Bandipore district the Wular Lake can be reached by a few minutes drive from the main city. Srinagar to Bandipur the distance is distance is 40 KM.
By AirSrinagar is the nearest airport, connected by Indian Airlines daily (75mts). Jet Airways connects Srinagar with Mumbai and new delhi with daily flights. : Jammu-Srinagar (13:35) and Delhi-Srinagar (11:15).
By RailJammu Tawi is the nearest railhead(290km). Major Indian cities like Kolkata, Mumbai are also linked to Jammu by train. Direct train services are available from Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Trivandrum.

The Vishansar Lake is an alpine high altitude oligotrophic lake situated in the vicinity of Sonamarg at an elevation of 3710 meters. It has a maximum length of 1 kilometer and maximum width of 0.6 kilometers.
Vishansar in hindi means the lake of Vishnu is home to many types of fishes among of which is the brown trout. It freezes during winter. During the summer season, the lake is surrounded by green lush meadows where local shepherds graze their flocks of sheep and goat.
The Lake with its scenic beauty, snow covered mountains and their gorges filled with small glaciers and the meadows around, with alpine flowers is an attraction for the trekkers in the Kashmir Valley.
It is fed by the Krishansar Lake and glaciers. The Vishansar Lake is the source of Neelum River which flows northwards up to Badoab and then westwards through Gurais along the Line of Control. The Gadsar Lake lies some 9 km in west crossing Gadsar Pass.
 The best time to visit Vishansar Lake is from the month of April to June.
How to Reach
 By Air
The nearest airport is Srinagar at a distance of 70 kilometres, which is connected to all major airports and flights. Taxis are available from Sonmarg to Srinagar airport on a daily basis.
 By Bus
State-run buses from Jammu and Srinagar are available daily. You can also take the special deluxe buses available from Jammu and Srinagar to Sonmarg.
 By Train
The nearest train station is Jammu, which is well connected by all the major train routes in the country.
Road/Self Drive
The distance from Jammu is around 400 kilometres which takes approximately 10 to 12 hours. You will be witness to some spectacular vistas on the way to Sonmarg and cross the famous Jawahar Tunnel, which links the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India.

Tarsar Lake is an almond-shaped, oligotrophic alpine lake situated in the Kashmir Valley, specifically in Aru, Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, India. 
The lake is separated by a mountain forming another lake of the same nature known as Marsar Lake, which is in the vicinity of Dachigam National Park. Together these two lakes are referred to as the Twin Sisters. 
Tarsar Lake is dominated by the peaks of the Kolahoi mountain massif some 20 km to the east. Nestled at an elevation of 3795 meters, the lake is eye-catching and measures 2 km in length and around 0.8 km in width. 
The lake is separated by a mountain with a minimum peak elevation of 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) from another lake known as Marsar Lake. 
The Tarsar Lake is drained by an outlet stream which falls into the Lidder River at Lidderwat, 15 km to the east. The Marsar Lake on the other hand drains out and flows in the opposite direction of the Tarsar Lake. 
Tarsar Lake is one of the beautiful tourist places to visit in Pahalgam. Tarsar Marsar Lake is accessible only during the summer. In winter, the treks are closed because of the heavy snowfall.

By Train: There is no railway station in Sonamarg. The nearest ones are the Srinagar railway station and Jammu Tawi station located around 51 kilometers and 182 kilometers away respectively. There are direct trains from Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai to Srinagar railway station.
By Road: If you are traveling to Sonamarg by road, you have to go via the National Highway 1D or Srinagar-Ladakh Road. From Gulmarg, it takes around 2 hours 30 minutes to cover the 126 km stretch. You can choose to travel by taxi, personal vehicle, or tourist buses.
