Marsar Lake,Jammu and Kashmir,India

Among the alpine lakes dotting Aru Valley, Marsar Lake is a beautiful alpine water body full of scenic natural beauty. The lake is located at a distance of about 5 km from Nagberan village. Marsar Lake along with Tarsar Lake forms a challenging trekking trail that adds another feature to the adventure of Jammu and Kashmir tourism.
The lake is separated by a mountain with a minimum peak elevation of 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) from another lake of the same nature known as Tarsar Lake. Due to their close proximity and similar physical characteristics, the two lakes are often called as the twin sisters.
A steep walk alongside the Tarsar Lake will lead you to the Marsar Lake. Here we will enjoy watching the nature and listening to the melodious chirping of birds.
The Marsar Lake offers tourists a glimpse of the stunning beauty of Kashmir. The traveler gets the opportunity to experience its scenic knolls, unspoilt lakes and aesthetic valleys that are famous across the world.
The best time to plan this place is in summers. However, July – September is also a great time to plan it. The summers are very pleasant here and you can see a lot of unique birds and regional animals around. The most famous sights seen at the Tarsar Marsar are the brown bear, musk deer, golden eagles,bar-headed geese, and choughs.
