Kishtwar,Jammu and Kashmir,India

Kishtwar is situated at a distance of approximately 232 km from the city of Jammu. The place is associated with Kishat Rishi, who used to stay here. Infact, the present name of Kishtwar is a modified form of the name of "Kishaswar", kept on the name of the Rishi.
Kishtwar will make you fall in love with the picturesque beauty of the place, with dense forests and rich wildlife.
It has lofty mountains and sloppy hills around which bestow upon it grandeur and fascinating look for the on lookers who live in this land or visit this land.
Travel to Kishtwar is extremely popular among tourists for the Kishtwar national park that includes the catchment areas of Kiar, Nanth and the Kibar streams. Animals such as the Snow Leopard, Antelope, Wild Yak and the Tibetan Ass can be commonly sighted in this park.
Kishtawar is a prominent district in Jammu that is famous for its saffron fields, sapphires mines and spell bounding natural beauty. This is a relatively less explored tourist destination that will wash away the tired patina of city life from your soul.
Kishtawar, though not so popular as a tourist destination yet has enough potential to grow into a popular tourist spot in the near future. It has mines all around and the saffron fields add a rich nature allure to the region.
