Lachen - Sikkim - India

Nestled at an altitude of about 9000 feet, Lachen is located in north district of Sikkim. It is an alluring tourist destination. The term ‘Lanchen’ means “big pass”. This beautiful place embraces breathtaking scenic beauty that truly offers visual splendor. 
Lachen, lying in close proximity to the China border, serves as an excellent base for adventurers, who want to explore the towering peaks of the region and the exotic Gurudongmar Lake. By Air: The nearest domestic airport is Bagdogra Airport. Lachen is roughly a four and half hour drive from the airport. Scheduled flights are available from cities such as New Delhi, Guwahati, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
By Rail: The nearest Railway Station is Darjeeling Railway Station which is connected to the major cities of Sikkim and is 171 Km from the town.
By Road: The road connectivity of Lachen is very good and provides connection to all major cities of Sikkim
