Nestled between the beautiful lofty ranges of the Himalayas,
lies the Naldehra hill station. The blue skies, lush green forests and an
occasional rainbow thrown in makes the place look like it has been painted on a
canvas.
Naldehra is a picturesque hill town located in the state of
Himachal Pradesh, at an elevation of 2044 m above sea level. The name of the
town is a combination of two words, ‘nag’ and ‘dehra’, which means the ‘abode
of the king of snakes’. The Mahunag Temple, devoted to a Serpent Lord; Nag, is
an important religious site of the place
This hill station is renowned for its golf course, which is
considered as one of the oldest and finest in India. Apart from this 18-hole
golf course, the place is also known for its fairs.
How to Reach
By Air
The closest airport is Jubberhatti 55 km away from Naldehra.
From the airport one can hire a taxi to get to Naldehra. The drive is
approximately 2 hours and would cost in the region of Rs 800.
By Rail
The nearest railhead is Kalka 116kms away. From the station
hire a taxi to make the 3 hour drive to Naldehra. Taxi charges would be around
Rs 1200 or so.
By Bus
From Delhi take NH1 to Ambala via Karnal, then branch off on
NH22 to Shimla. Proceed to Dhali, from where turn left for Naldehra.
