Horsley Hills,Andhra Pradesh,India

Horsley Hills is a famous hill station located in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Situated at about 4100 feet above the sea level, the narrow road which leads to the Horsley Hills is very exquisite. 
The old name of Horsley Hills was Yenugu Mallamma Konda. According to the legend there used to be a little girl named Mallamma who was taken care by Elephants. She used to heal tribal people on the hills. When she disappeared suddenly, people thought she was a goddess and built a temple for her. Later the place is named after W.D. Horsley, the Collector of Cuddapah district.
You can see thick vegetation of trees on both sides of the road. The hill is rich with dense forest and exotic greenery. The hill has a huge variety of trees like Eucalyptus, Gulmohar, Amla, Sandalwood and many other species. The Sampangi flowers which are best known for its elegant smell are found here which definitely binds you even after you leave this place. This place is also known as Andhra’s Ooty.
This place is also a heaven for adventure enthusiasts. Adventure Sports like Trekking and Rappelling are conducted here. It is also one of the few places in India which offers Zorbing.
The major tourist attractions around the Horsley Hills are Galibanda, Lake Gangotri and Mansarovar, Mallamma Temple, Shiva Temple, Horsley Hills Museum, Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary, Highview Seeing Point, Thimmamma Marrimaanu (Largest herd of Banyan Trees in the world), Environmental Park, Kalyani Tree and Rishi Valley School.
The weather of Horsley Hills is pleasant throughout the year and it can be visited anytime of the year. The peak season is from February to May. 
How to Reach
By Air
The nearest airports are at Tirupati and Bangalore at a distance of 160 km and 165 km respectively which cater to the air travel to Horsley Hills.
By Rail
The railway station at the Madanapalle Road is the nearest station to the Horsley Hills. From this station the town of Madanapalle is at a distance of 13 km and Horsley Hills is 43km.
By Road
APSRTC runs regular bus services to Horsley hills from Tirupati, Chittoor and Madanapalle. The best way to reach the place is by your own means of transport like Car. You can hire a mini bus or taxi also if you are coming in large groups.
