Bhitarkanika National Park is situated in the Kendrapara
District on the state of Odisha, India.
Established in the year 1998, the park is surrounded by the
Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary. The mangroves are separated from the Bay of
Bengal by the Gahirmatha Beach that lies in the eastern part. This beach is the
nesting grounds by hundreds of Olive Ridley Sea Turtles and thus is a protected
UNESCO site.
The sanctuary is visited for its rich and varied assortment
of biodiversity like Kingfisher, Heron, King Cobras, Storks, Spotted Deer,
Chital, Seagulls, Fishing Cat, Wild Pigs and Jungle Cat along with numerous
resident and migratory species.Inside the Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary,there is an area of approximately 4 hectares, which is visited by a large number of water birds, from the month of June to October every year.

railway station, about 70 Km from the Bhitarkanika. Bhadrak railway station is
well connected by road network to Bhitarkanika.
By Road – Bhitarkanika is well connected to
Major Cities and Places by road network. There are a number of government and
privately operated vehicles that go to Bhitarkanika at frequent intervals.
