Along,Arunachal Pradesh,India

Along is also one of the old town of Arunachal Pradesh and is the headquarter of west Siang district. Set in a wide open valley where the Sipu river merges with Siyom against the backdrop of hills covered with snow during winters, it presents a panoramic view to the delight of visitors.
Along in Arunachal Pradesh is inhabited by Adi (Gallong) tribes. Adi has different sub tribe, which differ from each other's like Adi (Gallong, Minyong, Pasi, Padam, Bori, and Bokar), if you visit far-flung inside this places you will find all these tribes, but in Along you will find only Adi (Gallong) tribal people.
The town is blessed with stupendous natural scenery sprinkled with beautiful orange gardens, swaying millet & buckwheat plantations and serene valleys.
This little town is famous for its natural beauty and is surrounded by mountains and has two rivers running through it, the Sipu and Yomga.
Two beautiful rivers, Sipu and Yomgo meandering right through the heart of this little hamlet, truly add to its picturesque charm and provide for a great time to passionate photographers offering them ample opportunities to capture nature in its most unpretentious form.
In the month of November to January slight snowfall occurs. It is very beautiful to see this place during snowfall where the city is encircled with white shades all around. 
How to Reach
By Air
The nearest airport to Along is at Lilabari, which is situated in the state of Assam. Lilabari is connected by flight services to Guwahati and Dibrugarh. One can take a bus or hire a taxi from Lilabari to Along. 
By Rail
The closest railway station to Along is at Silapathar. This is a very small station and only one train stops here, which is the Arunachal Express. One can hire a taxi from here to reach Along. 
By Road
Along has a good road network and the road which runs from north Lakhimpur to the capital city of Itanagar, connects the town of Along to the city. Regular bus services to Along run from Itanagar.
Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS) buses are available to and from Along. There is a 5 hours journey by bus from Pasighat to Along (106 km) while from Moying (150 km) the bus will take around 6.5 hours to reach Along.
