Tsunami Island,Malvan,India

Tsunami Island (near Devbaug beach) is a small island on the delta of Tarkarli River. Tsunami Island is in the back waters. It’s a small little island with clear waters. ‘tsunami island’ – which gets submerged during high tide – and also quaint boat rides to spot surfacing dolphins. The highlight of this gorgeous getaway is that it happens to be the only certified scuba diving centre in the entire state, blessed with an adjoining coral reef and clear waters. If exploring the magic of the sub-marine world is something you’ve always wanted to do, here’s a great way to get started. While fairly well known, the large swathe of the beach manages to be largely uncrowded, and visitors get to enjoy homestays, really reasonable and fresh Malvani cuisine and the unending natural beauty of coconut and Casuarina-tree studded sparkling golden sands.
Tsunami Island at Devbag is one of the major attractions to enjoy some watersports. Devbag is about 4 KMs from Tarkarli, which is about 7 KMs from Malwan.
The morning tour on the boat cruises is highly recommended. You can take pictures when you slowly move toward the Sangam as this is the place where the backwaters and the blue seas converge. Come along and soak up the lush green view on both sides of the backwaters lined with coconut and casuarina trees.
This is a small island formed in the middle of the river that joins to the sea at Devbaug
Tsunami Island popular for water sports. To the north west of Tarkarli stands the mighty Sindhudurg Fort, 3 Kms inside the sea off the Malvan coast.

This beach cum island also is the place to enjoy boat ride in the backwaters of Tarkarli River.
Home to the spicy Malvani cuisine and Karli Backwaters, this destination has a unique charm and calmness around it.
During high tide, you can't able to see this island. Even during the high tide, the depth on the island will be around 2-3 ft.
Tsunami Island Malvan is a small town located around 520 kms from Mumbai in Sindhudurg District on the Konkan belt of Maharashtra.
Apart from island visit, one can try water sports like kayaking, bumper, para sailing, jet scooter, that are organized in the island. And the costs for the water sports is very less compared to that of goa. The equipment is new and the organizers are so helpful, friendly.
Tsunami Island is surrounded by the Karli river on the west & south & it’s backwaters in the east & north. Some villagers have set up small tea stalls & snacks that are home made for customers.
Best time to visit Tsunami island for water sports is during high tide when the small island is partially submerged under the water (till knee length).
This island is very small and you can see it during low tide. Water sports are arranged on this island and even during high tide you can go there.
This place used to be under water at least by 3-4 feet even during the low tide.
Tsunami island has a lot of water sports options ,best way to reach it is to take a boat from devbag beach.Tsunami island Experience was thrilling and we entirely enjoyed this journey.
