The Siruvani waterfalls can be found in Attapadi in the Anaimalai range which can be found in the Kerala- Tamil Nadu border.
The dense forests that surround the Siruvani falls have rosewood, sandalwood, and teakwood aplenty. The soil in these hills is rich in oxides of aluminium iron. The communities that live in these hills include Pooloyar, Kadar, and Maravar groups. Their living is dependent on hunting and shifting cultivation of crops.
While Siruvani Waterfalls alone were known for its beauty and charm, it is all the more added with the construction of Siruvani dam. Siruvani dam, though was built by the Kerala government, is meant to sort the drinking water shortage of Coimbatore city.
The waterfalls can be seen all through the year but the best time to visit the waterfalls is in the month of September, after the monsoon when the water falls in its full glory.
