How to Reach
By Air
Being a small coastal village, there is no airport in
Mandwa. The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International
Airport, Mumbai, connecting the beach to major cities in India and abroad.
The distance from Mumbai Airport to Mandwa is 140km by road; though a more
convenient transportation mode exists – ferry or catamaran ride.
By Road
Mandwa beach is well connected from Mumbai and Pune through
direct Maharashtra State Transport MSRTC buses. Even private cabs are easily
available to reach Mandwa beach.
By Ferry/Catamaran
The shortest and most convenient mode of transportation is
via catamaran or ferry, which connects the Gateway of India, Mumbai, to Mandwa.
Being an integral ferry wharf, catamaran services are available throughout the
year, except in monsoon. The beach is located at close proximity to the Ferry
Wharf, easily accessible through rickshaws and private car. One can take
chartered bus from Mandwa to Kihim or Alibaug Beach. Everyday catamaran
services are available to and from the Gateway of India to Mandwa jetty. Ferry
services are available from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
By Train
The nearest railway station is at Pen, on Mumbai
– Goa Road. It is 85 km from Mandwa via roadways. Through Pen, the
beach is connected to Panvel and Mumbai via railways.
