Dahanu a quiet town about 150 kms from Mumbai on the Arabian sea coast, is a small town by the sea. Reknowned for the chikoo plantations Dahanu is responsible for over 50% of the countries chikoo produce. 
Dahanu has a long coastline with beaches extending up to the UT of Daman in the north with few interruptions!
Dahanu beaches mostly are black sandy beaches safe for a dip in the sea as undercurrents here is minimal .
Dahanu with its beaches lined by the coconut and casuarina trees that makes Dahanu a great weekend destination from the busy cities.
How to Reach
By Air
Dahanu is a small coastal town in Thane District and does not have its own airport. The nearest airport to Dahanu Beach is Mumbai, which is situated approximately 150km from the beach. There are innumerable flights connecting Mumbai to major cities across the world
By Road
Dahanu Beach is connected to Mumbai via National Highway 8. Many state transport buses available to reach Dahanu from Mumbai, thane, Vasai, Virar locations.
By Train
The nearest railway station is Dahanu Road, connecting the beach to major cities via Veraval – Pune Express, Jodhpur – Pune Express, and Ahimsa Express. Some mail trains also halt at Dahanu Road. The railway station is also accessible through Mumbai – Ahmedabad Highway. To reach Dahanu Beach, one can also catch shuttle train from Virar railway station for Dahanu Road. Shuttle trains frequently ply between Dahanu Road and Virar, making the beach more accessible. The beach is accessible via taxi or private car from Dahanu Road railway station.
