Gandhi Ashram,Gujarat,India

Once the residence of Mahatma Gandhi and his wife Kasturba, Sabarmati Ashram is undoubtedly the biggest tourist attraction situated in the suburb of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Located on the tranquil and serene stretch of Sabarmati River, it was also referred to as the 'Gandhi Ashram', 'Mahatma Gandhi Ashram' and most importantly, 'Satyagraha Ashram' as Gandhi began the famous 'Dandi March' from here.
In gratitude of the substantial impact Dandi march had on the Indian independence movement, the Indian government has recognized the Ashram as a national monument.
The Ashram is presently involved in a number of activities that serves to both preserve the history of Gandhi and the freedom struggle and also to promote and educate people in the great philosophies, values and teachings of Gandhi.
The main part of the ashram is Gandhi Sangrahalaya which has five units, a library, two photo galleries and an auditorium.

By Air:The nearest airport is Ahmedabad International airport, which is approximately 8 km far from Ashram.

The nearest railway station is Ahmedabad, Kalupur which is about 7 kilometres away.
By Bus or Road:
Ahmedabad is the well-connected with all major cities of Gujarat and Sabarmati ashram is a major tourist spot so you can get many road transport buses of Gujarat tourism run to the ashram.
