Located at a distance of 49 km from Chittoor, Tirumala Temple, Talakona Waterfalls is one of the highest waterfalls in the country. With white streams of water falling from a height of 270 feet, Talakona waterfalls presents a breathtaking view amid serene natural surroundings. 
The word Talakona, means head-hill. It is derived from Telugu word, Tala means head while Kona means hill, signifying the ‘head of Seshachalam hills’.

There are many beliefs associated with Talakona waterfalls. It is believed that Talakona waterfall has therapeutic qualities, its water which flows through a variety of herbs and medicinal plants, has the power of curing many ailments.
Originating from Seshachalam Hills, this waterfall is located in the Sri Venkateswara National Park, which is another place comprising of Talakona tourism. This place also makes for an ideal picnic spots, where tourists can spend a few moments of relaxation amid the best of natural settings.
