Mashem is the small village in South Goa, Surrounded with beautiful Coconut trees.The location is amidst the greenery of plantations and ocean roars form the west. The air is sweet, moist and clean and the seawater is crystal clear, in its natural form. The atmosphere is serene and the calmness of the sea and shores alike are reassuring in these hectic days of today. Offers  peace and serenity to independent travelers.
Mashem is come under the Canacona Taluk, south Goa, It is bounded on the north by the taluka of Quepem, on the northeast by Sanguem, on the south by the state of Karnataka, and on the west by the Arabian Sea. It is easily accessible from Mumbai. Bangalore as it is connected NH -17.

The Galgibag River originates in the state of Karnataka and flows into the Canacona Taluka. This 15 km long river acts as a southern natural boundary between the Talpona Beach and Galgibag villages 
                                 
The beautiful deserted beach stretch of Galgibag is a turtle nesting site for the  endangered Olive  Ridley turtles. it is situated at the end of South Goa, it a very net & clean beach where you can found privacy with lot of greenery, hardly few tourist would be found there, you can enjoy a romantic walk.



we have a home in Mashem within walking distance of this beautiful beach. You can drive right up to the beach and park your vehicles there. The sleepy village is connected by bus service to the town of Margao. The village nestles between two rivers that are not yet connected by bridges (planned).

How to reach:
Get in
Route NH17 from Mumbai to Goa going past Panaji and Margao. Driving straight down takes you to Chaudi, the headquarters town of Canacona. A more scenic route is the coastal road (right after Navelim) going via Chinchinim, Assolna, Betul and Canaguinim.
Get out 
Canacona is connected by road and bus with Margao (to the north) and Karwar (to the south). Canacona is also along the Konkan Railway route, though not all fast trains stop here. The railway station is just outside the small Chaudi main town of the taluka (sub-district).

Standing tall and elegant in the heart of the capital city of Goa is the famous Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception of Panaji.  It towers over the whole city of Panjim. The architecture is amazing, and the interiors are also beautiful. With the flight of steps adding to the exquisite charm and the majestic look of the immaculate & white facade, the Panjim Church is rooted in Goa’s historic past and culture for more than four and a half centuries.
The decoration of the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church is simple, but still it is amazing to the eyes because of its simplicity. The main altar is honored to Mary Immaculate, and it has two more altars, on the left is Jesus crucified and to the right is Our Lady of the Rosary. On the both sides there are two marble statues, one of St. Peter and one of St. Paul. On the right of the main altar in the south transept there is a Chapel of St. Francis Xavier.
To reach the Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Panjim, one has to climb 100 steps arranged in a majestic fashion, for the Church sits majestically atop a hillock dominating the heart of the city and offering a bird’s eye view of the main square.
The present church of Our lady of Immaculate Conception dates to 1619, although there had been a church on this site around 1540. The huge bell that now hands in the central belfry was brought from the ruins of the St. Augustine Church, Old Goa. It previously had hung in the tower of St. Augustine Church. This is the second largest church bell in Goa. The largest being the Golden bell in Se Cathedral in Old Goa

The feast of the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church is celebrated on 8th December every year. During its feast this church is beautifully decorated with lights and decoration and the entire Church Square is occupied by a lively fair. Intact this location of the church is so popular that many film shootings have been carried on this place. Standing on the high on the hill this church is indeed the crown of the Panjim city.
