The Naida Caves are an explorer’s delight. Located outside the city wall of the Diu fort, these caves are a network of hewn hollows and steps which beg to be explored. The history of the caves suggests that the Portuguese hacked off building materials during their reign, which resulted in the formation of the caves.
Naida caves in Diu are within a short distance from the Diu town. Diu’s greatest glory is the huge fort, a sight that justifies the long trip here. The northern side of the island, facing Gujarat, is tidal marshland and saltpans while the southern coast alternates between limestone cliffs, rocky covers and sandy beaches.
These caves have a natural opening that allows sunlight to enter the caves, making it all the more photogenic.
It’s also great if you want to do some actual exploring. Head to the caves during noon (the best time to visit) and spend a couple of hours going through the tunnels in the overwhelming silence and trying to figure out where the stairs actually lead to.
Naida Caves are a labyrinth of mystery and history. Naida caves are like a confusing network of tunnels that are largely unexplored till date. Well exploration is a traveler’s call but the mysterious vibes of the Naida Caves are enough to give you a high.

The beach in Redi is slightly different as compared to the ones in the neighbouring villages. To start with, it has a panoramic white sand view with sparkling white water, tall coconut trees and cashew plantations.
Since Redi is one of the lesser known beaches along the vast Arabian Sea coastline, the place still has a virgin feel to it. The beach is extremely clean with dogs running and playing, villagers trolling or sitting by the sea shore after a long day either fishing or in their fields and the youngsters playing cricket.
The beach has a very unusual coast line which during low tide gives one a backwater kind of a feel. There are small puddles and streams evenly paved through the sand and the actual waves are a distance away.
Accommodation options at Redi are limited to a handful of beach shacks and home stays which are located in the village.
If you’re looking for a good place to unwind, relax and log off from your hectic work life then a couple of days on the white sands of Redi beach is the perfect way to get your physical, emotional and mental batteries recharged.
