The Nagoa beach is the biggest and perhaps the most talked
about beach in Diu. The beach is horse-shoe shaped and is located in the Nagoa
hamlet of the Bucharwada village.
The seashore is always bustling with the wave movement and
this invariably leads to formation of beaches with unique shapes. Nagoa beach
which is around 5 km from the town is one of such marvels, where the shore is
horse shoe shaped. Thus one can see the moth of the horse shoe permitting the
sea water inside the shoe.The beach is exquisitely beautiful and is surrounded by dense coconut groves the beach takes its name from the Nagoa hamlet, a satellite of Bucharwada village. The full stretch of the beach approx. 2.5 km is clean and well maintained and minimal rocks and undercurrents makes the beach safe for swimming.
Nagoa beach is a palm-fringed, largely deserted and secluded
beach. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches in India. Just
twenty minutes refreshing drive from Diu will carry you to the unique
shoe-shaped beach of Nagoa. A swim in the water of this unspoilt virgin beach
is most refreshing one.
The beach is well rowed with the Hoka trees and quite good
for water sports like Parasailing, hot air balloon ride , water scooter, bumper
boating, banana boating, speed boat etc.Diu town is about 7 km from the Nagoa Beach and buses are available from the old bus stand to reach here. This old bus stand is located at the end of the bridge and offers only few buses to the beach.
Nagoa Beach is a popular picnic spot. It is a secluded
beach, which can be reached in 20 minutes through ferry from the main town of
Diu. The beach is situated in an old fishing village of Nagoa.
How To Reach Diu
By Bus:
The major cities of India are well-connected to Diu by
buses. Diu trip by bus is one of the economical ways to enjoy the sights
of the town. Diu visit by bus is possible by booking tickets directly
as well as by online. Private and state bus services between Diu and Ahmedabad
are available.
By Train:
‘Diu train timetable is available to aid the visitors
who are new to Diu train travel. The nearest railway stations from
Diu are in Somnath (SMNH) and Veraval (VRL) in Gujarat. Trains to
Diu are available but regular trains from major cities are not available.
Buses can be taken from railways stations to reach Diu.
By Flight:
Direct flights to Diu are available from
other major cities of India. The town does have its own Diu airport. From
the airport, cabs are available for hire for Diu travel. Daily flights to
Mumbai are available except on Saturdays.
By Cab/Car:
Driving to Diu by road allows one to enjoy the
sights and take snaps along the route. Diu car rental is also
available for those looking to drive and explore by themselves. There are many
relevant sites like ATMs and fuel pumps on the routes to Diu to help make long
travels easier.
