Sathodi Falls is a wonderful and picturesque rectangular shaped waterfall in the Uttara Kannada region in Yellapur district. The place is less packed with tourists, but indeed a beautiful waterfall to sight. The water falls from a height of 15m and forms a pool beneath. The stream of water contains a jumble of rocks and sometimes impossible to approach Sathodi Falls.
In between the bushes and the rocky terrain, there are small pathways leading to the waterfalls. The water flow is formed by the union of many other rivers that flow to Kallarmane Ghat, in Uttara Kannada region.
The rock formations around the waterfalls form a natural enclosure with the bountiful greenery and the clear and crystal water below. The waterfall has water all-around the year. Being fed by multiple tributaries the waterfall always has water. The water body formed below is ideal for a dip. One can enjoy the cool waters and swim through the clear water. The serene place is ideal for a picnic.
The best time to visit Sathodi waterfall is from November to April.

Magod Falls is a waterfall located in Karnataka. It is 80 kms from Karwar and 17 kms from the town of Yellapur. It is easily accessible by rail and road from the towns. The river Bedti falls from the height of 200 meters forming the Magod Falls. 
The place is remote with a magnificent view of the falls. You will find a large lake on the way to Magod Falls known as Kavade Kere which has an area of 60 acres. It is an ideal picnic spot with a beautiful view. The fall flows down into a rocky path from the height of 650 feet.

The mountain peak of Kodachadri forms the picturesque background for the Sri Mookambika Temple of Kollur. Kodachadri lies in the Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary. The mountain is 1343m tall and is the highest peak in the Shimoga district of Karnataka.
The Kodachadri mountain peak rises from amidst the dense forest and this place is situated in the middle of the Mookambika National Forest in the Shimoga district. It lies about 400 km from Bangalore.
The goddess resides at the peak, which is barren due to frequent and strong winds. Apart from being home to the most endangered flora and fauna, this forest also offers a great trekking track.
Trekking here is fairly difficult, although it is ideal for beginners. Kodachadri is known for its picturesque surroundings and the forest houses Malabar langurs, king cobras, hyenas, bison and pythons.
One of the main reasons why Kodachadri is famous is because it is termed as the Sarvajna Peetha. It is said that the great philosopher Adi Shankaracharya had performed his meditation here.
The ideal time to visit Kodachadri would be around October-March and travelling through jeeps on these rough roads would be the best way to travel. Jeeps will be available for hire from Kollur. During your trip to Kodachadri, though, watch out for leeches as these are a problem in places with thick vegetation.

To reach Kodachadri, travelers first have to go to Nagodi Village, from where the trekking begins. There are no buses available for this village, so tourists have to go from Bangalore to Shimoga or Udupi. Jog Falls are located in the Shimoga district of Karnataka. Four cascades, known as Raja, Rani, Rover and Rocket merge to form the huge waterfall on the Sharavathi River. The falls are locally known as Geruoppe Falls, Gersoppa Falls and Jogada Gundi. Jog itself is a Kannada word, which means falls.
The beauty of the waterfalls is enhanced by the lush green surroundings, which provide a scenic backdrop. Visitors can hike to the base of the falls and take a plunge in the water.
 A narrow path from view point leads to bottom of the falls. The walk is steep & little difficult and takes about 45 minutes one way. The view is amazing from the bottom and the showering sizzles of the falls at bottom are really worth the effort (water bottles are sold in midway of the trek path). However, the path is mostly inaccessible or dangerous during peak monsoons and it's suggested to go down only in winter & summer seasons.
How to Reach
Jog falls is easily accessible and is well connected by road and train. The nearest town Sagar is around 30kms from the fall. One has to take a deviation of about 2kms, from the national highway to reach the falls. 
By Air : The nearest airport is Bangalore airport 378 kms away and Mangalore (180km).
By Rail : The nearest railway station is Shimoga (104 kms from Jog). From Shimoga one can go to Taluguppa in a train meter gauge or in a bus. From Taluguppa it is 16kms to Jog by road. There are around 4 trains daily to Shimoga from Bangalore.
By Road :  The best approach from Bangalore is via  Tumkur road, NH 4 and then turn left at Tumkur, along the NH 206 (the condition of the road may not be good) to Shimoga and Sagara towns which have several buses to the falls each day. Now there are direct KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) buses including luxury coaches from Bangalore to Jog (8.30- 9 hrs Hrs journey). One can also take a direct bus from Bangalore to Shimoga or Sagara and then take local bus from Sagara to Jog.

The Irupu Falls or Iruppu Falls is also known as Lakshmana Tirtha Falls locally. It is formed by Lakshmana Tirtha, a stream originated in Brahmagiri Peaks and joins Kaveri River. According to the legend, Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana passed along the Brahmagiri range in search of Sita. When lord Rama asked his brother to get some drinking water, Lakshmana shot an arrow at the Brahmagiri hills and brought into being the river Lakshmana Tirtha. 
Dropping from a height of 170 feet through several stages, the falls are situated amidst thick forest of Western Ghats. The roaring waters of the Irupu Falls and the picturesque surroundings make it a favorite picnic spot.              
It is an unforgettable experience to stand at bottom of the cascades and play in the sizzling waters of the falls. Iruppu Falls is a part of the Brahmagiri forest range, there is a trek route that leads to the Narimale forest camp and then on to Brahmagiri Peak. Permission from forest department is needed for doing this trek.
There is a temple called Rameshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is located on the banks of the Lakshmana Tirtha River, enroute to the falls. It is said that Lord Rama himself installed the Shiva lingam inside the temple. This temple attracts a large number of pilgrims during the festival of Shivaratri.
The falls is at its best in monsoon and post monsoon seasons. The best time to visit Iruppu falls are from August to January while the peak season is from September to December. Usually it takes half day to visit Iruppu Falls.

Gokak falls is a waterfall known for its beauty. It is at a distance of 60 Kms from Belgaum and 10 kms from Gokak town. Located right on the main road is a celebrated tourist center in the district. This falls has a height of about 170 feet.
The river Ghataprabha after winding a course of a long route takes a leap of 52 meters, over a rocky bed 170 feet down. The falls is famous for its spread and shape.Except in width and colour of the water, the general features of the fall, its height, shape and rapidity above are much like those of  Niagara.
There is a hanging bridge across the river, about 201 meters and its height above the bed rock is measuring about 14 meters. Only 30 people are allowed at a time inside the bridge.
One interesting feature of this place is the monuments from the Chalukya era that are found on either bank of the rocky gorge. Another attraction of this place is the very old river-front temple dedicated to Lord Mahalingeshwara, built in the Later Chalukyan style of architecture.

Aihole is a historical site in Bagalkot District of Karnataka situated on the banks of Malaprabha River. It is being considered for World Heritage Site status by UNESCO.
Aihole, along with Pattadakal, is considered as the cradle for South Indian Temple architecture. There are more than 125 temples in Aihole constructed between 5th and 8th centuries during Badami Chalukya's rule.
The main monuments in Aihole are Durga Temple, Ladkhan Temple, Ravana Pahadi and Archeology Museum. Except Ravana Pahadi, all other sites are located in same compound. 
The place is of archeological importance and one of the oldest civilization hub of India. the temple of Aihole is closely related with the mythological chapter of Hinduism engraving the stories from mythological and religious stories.
